Like a vacation on my Camino

It’s funny how busy life on the Camino feels. Wake up, pack, walk, walk, walk, arrive and immediately shower and wash clothes in the sink and look for a line to dry them on. Find lodging for tomorrow, dinner, and off to bed. Find time for a beer on a good day. And write my blog!

Sunday Mass at St Etienne today was at 11am. It’s like I had the morning off  from 8-11. I sat in the warm sun of the Church courtyard and searched for rooms at the next few stops. My new friend Jeremy did the same.

Mass inside St Etienne was freezing. I had to put on my sweater and jacket.

    I already heard from my wife that today’s post was too short. I thought I’d give you all a break from my rambling! Honestly, I fell asleep while winning last night. I woke up at midnight with the phone on my chest and decided to just hit send. I’ll do better tomorrow. Ha ha.

    I wondered how you were washing your clothes; that would too hard for for me just use a sink! You are a pilgrim for sure! Blessings!!!!

The top 4 questions about my Camino.

 The top 4 questions I get from family and friends as I share my Camino plans are: Are you crazy?  Will you post stories/pictures/videos along the way?  Are you really going alone? Why are you doing this? The answer to question 1 is a solid "yes". My family and friends will all attest to that. For question 2, I hope this blog will be the "yes" answer. On number 3, my come back is always "Don't you know me? I'm never alone." I love to meet people, talk to folks, and make friends. I firmly believe I'll never be alone on the pilgrimage as I'll be surrounded by fellow pilgrims. And of course, I'll always have God with me. But that really is part of the answer to #4. Why walk the Camino? That's a longer answer that I'm working on and I'll share my current 3 reasons in my next post. Peace, MB
